I called prior to going in and spoke with someone to go over the paticulars on the job I hoped to have completed. I was assured they could handle my garments. However, I did not go through with the cleaning for 1 simple reason. When I arrived to drop my clothing off, I parked in the back lot and saw a dog food/bowl in the floor of the rear entrance.
Needless to say I was none to happy. It seems to be the "in thing" now days to have your "therapy pet" everywhere from the damn airport to my grocery cart. NOT COOL!
I'm allergic to animals and I dont think its even appropriate to have animals in an establishment that is catering to the public by cleaning there clothes and housegoods. No way my Cashmere, Marni and Stella M. pieces were going to be handled by these broads. Needless to say I didnt even enter the establishment. Ended up finding another establishment. Also, when I told him what I just expereinced he was surprised and agreed it was totally inappropriate to have animals inside a dry cleaners. I recently purchased a very expensive winter parka.
The first day wearing it, I was dining at a restaurant near a fireplace with the parka on the back of the chair..upon arriving home I noticed one of the sleeves had been burnt/melted. Fairly large area had been scorched and I wasn't sure what the best option was going to be in terms of repair.
I brought the parka to Main Line Fabric Care, showed them the damage, told them I'd like to try to repair it and left things in their hands.
I just picked up the parka and I am so thrilled with the work.
They were able to patch over the damage with a color matched piece and the work is impeccable.
I will now be bringing all my dry cleaning here as well.
Highly recommend for any repairs/alterations.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cody Y.Havertown, PA1527331139Sep 30, 2015
I've only ever dropped off dry cleaning here, but the experience was a pleasant one. They dry cleaned two suits in 2-3 days, and from what I can tell they did a fantastic job making them look like new (the bill came to around $30). In addition to dry cleaning, Main Line Quality Cleaners will also hem pants/dresses and provide any sewing needs. Overall, you can't go wrong here, and I'd recommend.

I brought a dress here that I thought I would never be able to wear again because it was covered with quite a few small red wine stains. I had only worn it once to a fancy party, but loved it so much that I wanted to try and see if someone could help. It was made of silk so most people said it was a lost cause. The nice woman at Main Line Fabric called her husband and they came up with a plan and offered to try a few things.
They were able to save the dress after all! I have been meaning to post a review, but forgot and then I just wore the dress and got so many compliments I had to come on and thank them!!!! THANK YOU!! I will definitely be back! I live in NYC, but come home often and love this place so will definitely be bringing more stuff home next time!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Sara W.Philadelphia, PA06Dec 29, 2017
I have lots of alterations done here (I'm very petite and hard to fit), and they've done consistently excellent work. It's easy to try things on for pinning, the staff is very nice, the location is attractive and convenient, and they're really accommodating and attentive to detail. Great place.

I have come to Main Line Fabrics twice now, with two pretty significant issues. One was a dress that didn't fit that I needed let out, the other was a lined winter pea coat that needed mending on the outside. Both times, my garment was inspected carefully, and with the dress, she actually had me try it on in the shop. I was given an estimate that was accurate both times, and a date I could pick it up, and both times, my item was ready right when I came in. I was never given a slip to pick it up, just had to give my phone number and it was ready right away. The coat that I brought in to be mended not only looks like new in the shoulder that was ripped, but was dry-cleaned as well and looks exceptional. It will live to see another season, that's for sure. I will be bringing my dry-cleaning there from now on, in addition to clothes I need mended or taken in.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here. The staff is very friendly and the dress came out great! It was close to $100 but cheaper than I would have paid if I went to the dress shop where I bought the dress.

I brought my dress here that was TRASHED with stains, it was a white dress that basically was brown and black from wearing it to a party that was in the rain. I thought I was going to have to throw the dress away it was so trashed, but thanks to Main Line Fabric Care, the dress returned to its crisp white color. I would recommend this place to anyone, even for high end fabric care. I will never go to a different dry cleaner again!

Tldr; they ruined one of my dresses with an alteration that was nothing like what we discussed and refused to give a refund (despite agreeing the alteration turned out differently)
I recently moved to the Main Line area and was looking for a new place to bring my frequent alterations. I brought in a dress I needed to be taken in everywhere from the chest through the waist. I tried the garment on and the tailor pinned the dress tighter exactly where it would be taken in. However, when I picked up the dress it was very different than what we had clearly agreed upon. The chest area had been taken in appropriately while the waist area wasn't touched, making the large fit in that area even more exaggerated and the proportions look very off. When I pointed it out, the tailor agreed with me that it didn't look right and agreed we had pinned that area back in the fitting. She then told me it must have been left this way because it wasn't possible to bring the waist area in...which would have been fine if she had mentioned that when I tried it on, or at any point before they altered the garment so I could return it. At this point I would have thought we could come to an agreement on how to rectify the situation (refund, credit, try altering another way, anything really), but she was unwilling to make any compromises and basically sent me away with well it's your problem now because she had already paid her third party tailor for the work...though she did throw in a "sorry?". So now I'm stuck with a ruined dress that I can't return and a large alteration bill. Will not return and do not recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maddy D.Philadelphia, PA0141Dec 8, 2014
It's obvious that the people there work hard and they cannot always control these situations but I just had a frustrating experience. I dropped off a garment Monday at 9am with a few stains and requested it no later than Friday. Saturday I call because they still have not notified me and they tell me to wait until the afternoon. I called twice before showing up but when I showed up I had to wait around 15 minutes for my dress to come in a van. The stains I asked them to look at were all still there, yet I still paid $14 dollars for it. I think that there is only so much that specific people there could have done, and they were all very kind people. I am sure they would be great for mending, etc. but was disappointed with what happened in my experience. My suggestions would just be to be more realistic about anticipated pick-up times (I even called right before leaving and they told me to come on by), and to possibly offer a slightly lowered rate if the cleaning is unsuccessful. Otherwise, it is a welcoming place with friendly folks.
